Reindeer Games
Having fun playing Reindeer Games! All are welcome to play.
Take a deep breath and blow the Christmas Cards?! Can you move them without collapsing?
Here's some PHES Cougars who had better luck than Mrs. Broam:
Reindeer fly over tree tops. Be a tree with your body for a reindeer to practice flying.🎄
Spend some time being still and quiet to get the most fun out of your holiday! A snow globe is a great tool. Shake it up and quietly watch the flakes float slowly to the bottom.❄❅❆
Have a Merry Holiday!!

Sticky Situations
How does Santa go down the chimney? I've always thought "feet first" but this hat makes it appear he "dives right in" to his work?! Do you think he ever gets stuck? What do you do when you "get stuck" and have trouble moving forward?
To work through sticky situations, Mrs. Broam yogas!! Yoga helps me to breathe and balance, s-t-r-e-t-c-h and strengthen. I'll be offering FAMILY YOGA at Pleasant Hill on Sunday afternoons in the new year! Maybe yoga will help you with your stickier moments too?! #mrsbroamhats #mrsbroamMOVES #yayforyoga #tryityoumightlikeit #newopportunitiesinthenewyear

He Sees You When You're Sleeping!
So you better get some shut eye! Dr. James Maas of Cornell University has written several books on the topic, including the Power of Sleep. He says a good night's rest [7-8 hours for most adults, 10-12 hours for 3-6 year olds, 10-11 hours for 7-12 year olds] "restores, rejuvenates, and energizes the body and the brain. The third of your life that you should spend sleeping has profound effects on the other two thirds of your life, in terms of alertness, energy, mood, body weight, perception, memory, thinking, reaction time, productivity, performance, communication skills, creativity, safety, and good health." SO be good to yourself and hit the hay! HO! HO! HO! Santa will know . . . #mrsbroamhats #getyourshuteye

Groovin' with the Grinch
"Every Who down in Who-ville liked Christmas a lot . . . but the Grinch who lived just north of Who-ville did NOT!"~How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

TREEmendous Tuesday
When you pretend to be a tree, it helps reduce anxiety, relieve a scattered mind or channel frenetic energy. It also helps you feel stable in your body, steady in your mind and balanced in your mood and emotions.
Take a deep breath and stand tall. Press the sole of one foot to the ankle, lower leg, or thigh. Your balancing leg is straight and strong, but don't lock your knee. You can raise your "branches" high to help with balance. Squeeze your tummy muscles if you wobble. Breathe! Try it on the other side. It's helpful to find a focal point if it's difficult to balance. "Be a tree" for a TREEmendous Tuesday!
Wanna know why you should take a five-minute yoga break?? Remember when I flew back and forth to Chicago? Here's thoughts from my teacher of that 95-hour children yoga teacher certification: http://yogachicago.com/2018/10/five-minute-yoga-breaks-in-school/?fbclid=IwAR2noiqpihNYd4fF-lWcDLAiP4NMMe08Zf8zKijS6QgqZxh74aivDDL45w0 #mrsbroamhats #mrsbroamMOVES #beatree 🌲🌳🌴🎄 #focus #balance #steady

If Rudolph Uses His Words
We are practicing the BUG and a WISH strategy for talking out a problem with a friend. If Rudolph knew about a BUG and a WISH, he might say, "It bugs me when you call me names, I wish you'd call me Rudolph." Or maybe, "It bugs when you won't let me play, I wish you included me in your reindeer games."
When you move like a reindeer (Warrior 1 Yoga Posture), you stretch your stomach, chest, shoulders and neck. You also strengthen the muscles in your arms, back, thighs, calves and ankles. #mrsbroamhats #mrsbroamMOVES #useyourwords #bugandawish 🐛🌟

Winnie Wisdom on Wednesday
Winnie-the-Pooh Wisdom on Wednesday:
“‘When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,’ said Piglet at last, ‘What’s the first thing you say to yourself?’
‘What’s for breakfast?’ said Pooh. ‘What do you say, Piglet?’
‘I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?’ said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. ‘It’s the same thing,’ he said.” —Winnie-the-Pooh🍯 #mrsbroamhats #winniewisdom

What Kindergarten Remembered . . .
I am so blessed to work with great teachers who reinforce the lessons I share!! Mrs. Stickney incorporates my afternoon lesson in her next day's writing workshop!! Isn't that cool?! And what's even better is students REMEMBER what we've talked about and practice the ideas and concepts again. Thank you, Mrs. Stickney!😊
