It is Just a Phase!

This time last week we were preparing for a solar eclipse!  It was an awesome event to experience!!  A week later, my bright idea of the day, is sometimes, metaphorically, the moon blocks out my sun . . . Today I'm thinking of ways to protect my joy when the darkness descends . . . thank you to friends and family with whom I can talk and share!  Thank you for the ability to take a good walk to work out a plan.  Or yea for the moments I can sit still and quiet . . .  How do you work through a challenge??  Maybe the best thought is to remember is it only temporary . . . it is just a phase . . .

The picture today is of Mrs. Broam pretending to be a triangle!  Often one hand stretches high and the other low, but with this triangle, I'm stretching the low hand OUT to work and challenge my core strength.  You have the POWER to SHINE during all kinds of weather and astronomical phenomenon?!  Let your LIGHT SHINE!

Who could've imagined there was a children's book to read for Monday's solar eclipse?!  I've enjoyed sharing it with those attending orientations this week.  Be safe, and we'll see you on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, Tuesday, August 22!

And WE'RE BACK!!

We're LEAPING into a new school year!  It's been exciting to meet folks and welcome back students for 2017-18.  At Tuesday's kindergarten orientation, I was able to share Leap Back Home to Me by Lauren Thompson.  It is beautiful to watch our cougars grow and learn each year, taking small leaps at first [over daisies and creeks] to GIANT ones in the upper grades [over the sun and farthrest stars].  Please remember your counselors are here to help you put out fires or manage buggy feelings.  We're here to help you problem solve and untangle knots.  You are NOT the "Farmer in the Dell" Cheese~you NEVER STAND ALONE!  Like Dory and Nemo, we'll "just keep swimmin'" together, glad to work side-by-side through the challenges and celebrations we have ahead of us.
