Trick or Treat?

Everyone gets scared sometimes.  ALL Feelings are OK.  Sometimes things are really, truly scary and sometimes things are scary because of our imagination.  How can you know the difference?  Talk to someone!  Don't keep scary feelings secret.  When you are scared, you have an opportunity to be brave!

EYES on YOU

Strengthen your eyes muscles so you can improve your ability to "look around!"  Sit with a partner.  We used finger puppets but you can use any object.
Look at the object without moving your head.  Your partner slowly "draws in the air" lines, circles, Xs for your eyes to follow.

Rub your eyes to relax the muscles after the exercise.  We often think about strengthening many other muscles in our body .  .  .  don't neglect your eye muscles!

Sometimes people choose to hurt others when they are hurting.  We call that "being a shark friend."  What is a better way to work through pain?  How about take a deep breath, talk to someone, listen to music, be quiet and still for a little while, go for a walk, drink some water .  .  . make a choice that doesn't leave a mark?!  There WILL be pain, but there doesn't HAVE to be suffering!
