SMILE, George! It's Your Birthday!

Happy Birthday, George Washington!  You're looking good for 285 years old!  Did you know that George Washington only had two teeth when he was elected the first president of the United States?!  How did I know that?  I read it in a children's book!!!  There WILL be problems . . . but we ARE problem solvers!  George persevered and accomplished great things!  Don't let your problems hold you back from making the world a better place.  :-)

Love & Logic

We began a six week Love & Logic Parenting Course today!  Here's a book you'll LOVE to jump start your LOGIC!  Explore haiku poetry while trying to identify the critters:  "Haiku is a style of Japanese poetry.  The "hai" means "to make light of" or "to make a joke of."  So traditional haiku have an element of play."   There's a fun trick to play in this good book too!

If you'd like to know more about Love & Logic Parenting, please contact Ms. Arnette or me.  We'd LOVE to tell you all about it.

Today I salute Mrs. Broam's 2nd Grade Class of 1993-94!!  They were a HANDSOME bunch. :-)  I am thankful and so proud of these students and how they are making the world a better place 23 years later.  We BUILT a special community together!  Check us out:

Viking It and Liking It

So even the Vikings couldn't control the weather or seas or when they caught a cold . . . "I am the one thing in life I can control." It's one of my many favorite lines from the Hamilton Musical.  I'm in charge of what I think, where I look, what I say, how I feel, what I do.  To change "your world,"  change YOUR thinking.  Remembering "Circle of Control" on Wednesday!

Think BIG on Monday

We're exploring careers and how to work in the world!  We're thinking of who we are and what a "right fit" job might be . . . Is Mrs. Broam a better fit for school counseling or pizza restaurant-ing?  Which job allows wearing a silly hat or reading stories to children?? If everybody worked a "right fit" job, a job that capitalizes on unique talents and strengths, the world would be a shinier place.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow!  According to tradition, that means six more weeks of winter-like weather . . . gotta buy more hand warmers?!  Good News for Mrs. Broam:  We haven't really experienced "winter-like weather" this season so six more weeks might not be so bad?!  :-)  Find a positive to hang on to today!  You'll be happier, no matter the weather.

Something more to giggle about  . . .
