SHINE on Tuesday
Another way to practice being still and quiet is the "Shining Star" quiet time. Relax your body, maybe close your eyes, and pretend you feel the sun shining in middle of your chest. Feel the sunshine slowly move to your right shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and fingers. Feel the sun travel back up the arm, across your heart and over to the left arm. Travel with the sun to your belly, back, legs, feet, neck, face, and head, one body part at a time! When you feel the sun travel throughout your body, you are still and quiet and create the opportunity for calm in your brains, body and heart. Today we were quiet and still with the "Shining Star" quiet time for three and a half minutes!! Afterwards students shared:
"I feel nice, calm, a little bit tired."
"I am relaxed."
"I feel calm and peace. I am excited."
"I am sleepy. I didn't hear all you said, Mrs. Broam."
