Veterans Day -- A Day of Remembrance

November 11th was my Grandpops' Birthday.  Grandpops was my dad's Pops.  He would have been 100 years old today.  November 11th was Grandpops' birthday before it was Veterans' Day!  Today we remembered and celebrated all those who have served and continue to serve our country and communities.  My dad, who we now call Pop Pop, played TAPS at the Veterans Day ceremony at Pleasant Hill Elementary School.  He played on the trumpet his Pops helped him purchase in 1960.  He figures his Pops was then about as old as I am these days .  .  . we're doing a lot of remembering today!  I am thankful for all these good memories.  Happy Veterans Day!
